FOTD With Shiro and NYX

Today I decided to play around with some of my Shiro Cosmetics shadows. The blue is Evolve, and the green is Maiden Queen. I used these over Darling Girl Glitter Glue, which is great for use with loose shadows. It grabs and holds the sparkle like nothing else. On my lips, I'm wearing NYX Round Case lipstick in the shade NYX (yes, they made a shade named NYX).

I also dyed my hair a golden brown color recently. It looks red in certain lights, but the color in this photo is what was promised on the box, so I guess natural light shows it best. I've been dealing with a lot of health problems lately, which is one reason I haven't been posting. I'm hoping to post a lot more in the future, though!

Dollar Store Beauty-Profusion Palettes

Yesterday I went to the Dollar Tree to pick up some cotton rounds for removing nail polish, and saw these pretty profusion palettes. I've heard good things, and I actually have one other, so I thought I'd give them a try. I am very happy with them. All of the swatches are over NYX HD Eyeshadow Base.

I had to go over a few of them a couple of times, but they're all capable of good pigmentation. I definitely recommend them, especially the pink palette. I hope you enjoyed!

Battle of the Primers-Swatch Edition

Recently, I had been playing around with the Urban Decay Primer Potion that came with my NAKED palette. Honestly, I wasn't wowed by it. So I put it up against my favorite primer so I could show you the difference. First, the picture.

As you can see, the NYX primer makes the shadows brighter and lets the sheen they're meant to have shine through. I liken the UDPP to swatching over bare skin. Last night I did that next to it, and it looked basically the same. The colors aren't as bright, and there is no luster to them.

At $20, I feel like UDPP is just a waste of money. The NYX primer retails for only $7, so you're really getting your money's worth.

What do you think? Let me know your thoughts in the comments. Hope you enjoyed!

Long Overdue Victorian Disco Swatches

I ordered the Blogger Package from Victorian Disco a couple months back, and took pictures, but never posted. *Slaps hand* These shades are gorgeous and deserve to be on my blog. I paid for these myself, so the review is unbiased. I really love them, and the owner of the company is so sweet and friendly. Thanks, Ashley, for being awesome to work with!!

All of the shadows together.

Zoey is now discontinued, sadly.

Timelord and So Many Owls.
The cutest business card in existence.
Rowena was bought for me by a friend. It is sadly discontinued.
Swatches in natural light. This is over NYX HD Eye Shadow Base. They all swatched wonderfully. Rowena was a bit patchy, however, as you can see.

A look I did with Zoey and Potter Stinks.

I really love the shadows that I bought from Victorian Disco. I have pressed them all into palettes, and they all did wonderfully. I look forward to using them more now that I have them in a more convenient package. Thanks for reading. :)

Dreamworld Minerals Swatches Part 3 (MUTED SHADES & SHIMMER)

Lets jump right in, shall we? As you can see, these colors look amazing over the Eye dew, but on bare skin, don't come off as nicely. An eye primer is essential for these, and I will be testing them over my regular primer, which is NYX HD Eye Shadow Primer. I will let you know how it goes!

Next we have the two shimmery eye pigments I was sent. These are my favorite. I am in LOVE with Sonnet. I opened the jar and fell for it immediately. I can see this becoming a favorite lid shade for me!

I hope you enjoyed this series! I will be doing looks with these soon, and I will post those for sure! Have a great day!

Sonnet and Windsong, a Love Story

I knew as soon as I opened Sonnet and Windsong, I knew that I would have to use them in a look together. So I did. My only complaint about them is that there is a lot of glitter fallout. Just make sure to do your foundation last unless you want a bunch of sparkle on top of your cheekbones.
Otherwise, I have no issue with either of them. They are gorgeous colors. I just lined my eyes with black liner and put on mascara to complete the look. I used my favorite lip gloss (NYX La-La), and did my normal foundation routine. The only thing I did differently for foundation was to use my NYX Matte Setting Spray. I think my foundation looks less cakey than it usually does, which I'm loving. Anyway, on to the pictures!

My last installment of the matte shadow swatches will be up on December 4th, along with the swatches of Sonnet and Windsong. I highly recommend Sonnet. It is just so pretty! It is quite sparkly, though, so if you're more of a matte/satin person, it probably isn't for you. I hope you enjoyed this post! See you in the next one!

Dreamworld Minerals Swatches Part 2 (PURPLES & BLUE/GREENS)

Welcome to the next round of swatches! As before, the formula on these are great, and the Eye Dew primer really brings out the color. I highly recommend getting it if you use loose shadows on a regular basis.
Keep in mind that I also did not swatch them over a regular primer, so they will definitely benefit from that.

Next we have the blues and greens, and I'm sorry to say that these are a little disappointing. As you will see in the photo, some of them are quite patchy. But the darker green? That is a show stopper. I love it. I also am a huge fan of Apple Island.
I will have the more muted and neutral colored swatches up soon! After that are the two shimmery shadows I got. So stay tuned and thanks for reading!
